Hillary Clinton wins the Pennsylvania primary and avoids elimination in the nomination race. Exit polls show that Clinton won with the support of blue-collar workers, women and white men. Clinton has 53 percent and Obama has 47 percent of the votes with nine percent of the votes counted.

Superdelegates are beginning to wonder why Barack Obama hasn’t locked up the nomination with all the advantages he has. Presently, he leads with 1,648 delegates and Hillary Clinton has 1,537 delegates. The Pennsylvania primary will award 158 delegates towards the 2,025 needed to secure the nomination.

The Democratic candidates have flooded Pennsylvania voters with “robocalls” in the final days before the presidential primary. The automated phone calls have the same negative tone of the candidates’ bitter race where they boost their own credentials, while criticizing their opponent.

The Pennsylvania primary will determine the rest of the Democratic campaign. If Obama wins or Clinton wins by 5 points or less, the race is basically over. If she's ahead within the low teens, Clinton will remain the underdog. If Clinton wins in the high double digits, then she might ultimately win the popular vote.

The majority of Democratic voters think Barack Obama has a better chance of defeating John McCain. An earlier poll showed that 56% of voters favored Hillary Clinton as the stronger nominee. Now Obama leads because Clinton’s ratings for being honest, likeable, ethical, and refreshing have fallen.

Hillary Clinton's top expert on China, Professor Richard Baum, resigned over Clinton's grossly inaccurate accusations about China. His email stated, quote, “As a lifelong Democrat, it saddens me that Senator Clinton has chosen to take the low road in her effort to gain our party’s presidential nomination,” unquote.
