Podango Privacy Policy
The following is the official privacy policy of Podango, which we have written so that our users might better understand how we will use their personal information. The Terms of Use is the actual contract between Podango and its users, and refers to this policy as Podango's agreement concerning its members' privacy.Cookies
Like many websites, Podango uses "cookies" to allow users to log into the site, and to store users' preferences. (For details on cookies, please refer to http://wp.netscape.com/newsref/std/cookie_spec.html.) The only data stored in these cookies are session IDs and login expiration dates. Email addresses, names, and other data collected by the site are not stored in these cookies.
Private Information
Podango may ask for information such as email address, first and last name, birthdate, and zip code for use on the site. This information is held confidential, and NEVER RESOLD OR DISTRIBUTED TO ANY THIRD PARTY. While changes in the Terms of Use may occasionally be made, this policy regarding your email address and personal information will never change.
Public Information
User information that is not held private is labelled as such in the registration pages and profile-editing pages. This includes username, the date a user first registered, etc.
Exceptions
In the case of law enforcement or legal investigation into any of our members, we will make an exception to the policy regarding your private information. Barring these two exceptions, your information will remain confidential.
Security
Podango stores all passwords in an encrypted state, and cannot send passwords to users. Passwords may be reset by request FROM THE EMAIL ACCOUNT ON RECORD, and new passwords sent to the email address on record for the requested user. This policy better enables Podango to protect users from password-theft.
Future Changes
While Podango promises to never give out your personal information, precise phrasing in this policy may need to change in the unforeseeable future.
